Tim Hortons of four years ago: My dad and I would always go to Tim Hortons after our piano lessons, where we were greeted by friendly service and a wide selection of yummy food.
Tim Hortons of today: My dad and I went to Tim Hortons after our piano lesson, where no one was out front. My dad had to peek into the kitchen five minutes into our wait and alert them that we wanted to buy stuff. My dad ordered chicken stew, which they were currently out of. However, the cashier was unaware of this and ended up taking our money anyway. Several minutes later, her manager alerted her of the chicken stew situation, and it seemed to take some time for the predicament to process in her brain. Finally, we were officially informed of the problem, and my dad actually had to request for our money to be given back. He finally got chicken noodle soup instead. As has been the case in recent visits, they forget to give us rolls with our soup without our request. And my dad’s water tasted funny.
My donut was yummy. -

Boba Fett macking the ladies and my obscure Interlochen-related subtitle have been replaced by new stuff. I figured it was time for change. General Zod and Kevin Smith have played a big role in my life this summer. The fact that I’m currently wearing a Superman hat Silent Bob-style is a testament to this.
Speaking of Silent Bob, Matt and I saw Jay and Silent Bob strike back for the third time tonight. Yes, third. Did you know that Banky’s hat says “Snootchie Bootchies, Bluntman”? Or that in the convenience store where Jay and Silent Bob beat up the dude at the end, the sign says that if you look less than 27, expected to be carded when you attempt to purchase alcohol? Yep. Sad thing is, that wasn’t the only Kevin Smith movie I saw today. Matt and I rented Chasing Amy again. Whoo.

Built to Spill was freaking amazing. I was standing right in the center, four people back from the front. They closed with Freebird by Skynyrd! That was loads of fun. Freaking amazing.
Funny thing, though. I get to the Newport Music Hall, and the marquee says Built For Spill is playing…

Whoo! Northwestern is 1-0 after defeating UNLV 37-28. The next game, in Evanston against Navy, will be extra special cause I’ll be there. Yay season tickets.
Song stuck in my head while I was painting today (although I wasn’t actually working, just painting actual stuff at my house): Ben Folds - Rocking the Suburbs

Happy Birthday, George!
I decided to change the poll. Maybe I’ll make it monthly? Anywho, it really hasn’t changed all that much. Just gotten more specific. As far as results of the last poll, Jane and Harley Quinn tied with 6 votes each. One person actually wanted to bang Bugs. And, just like on the cartoon, no one wants one-eyed Leela… :(

Whoo! I’m now running the new system! Unfortunately, I don’t really have the front panel power switch and LEDs hooked up correctly yet, so I have to like jiggle this little wire when I want to boot… Hopefully things will be a-okay soon.

Hello there, September!
Quote of the day: “Well, if it isn’t the Curse of the Conservatives himself-Oliver ‘All Cops are Fascists’ Queen!”</i>Barry Allen in Green Arrow #7, written by Kevin Smith!
So I ordered a new motherboard and processor. Everything’s in ok… except for the damn power switch at the front of my case. That’s because Gateway decided to bundle all their cables into this one 14-pin doodad that’s really pissing me off right now. Anywho, I’ve got a nice little jerry-rigged setup at this juncture in time, with the old motherboard sitting atop my open case with a modem and a video card in it. Fun fun! -

My computer is now running on an Antec 300W power supply, awaiting the arrival of my 1.4 GHz Athlon Thunderbird processor (mmmmmm….), possibly as early as tomorrow! The unfortunate thing is my case originally didn’t have a spot for the plug thingie on the back of the power supply to peek through, so it took a shitload of filing to get things to the point where I could screw the damn thing in, but here I am now, happy as a clam. Well, not as happy as that other clam over there that already has his 1.4 GHz Athlon…
