as you walk up to mt. rushmore, there’s a flag for each u.s. state and territory. here’s ohio. on a slightly related note, i just purchased an ohio flag which i have proudly displayed on the wall of my new apartment.

mt. rushmore. i couldn’t help but sing the team america: world police theme song to myself the entire time i was here. and yes, there were more bikers here than you can shake a pair of leather chaps at.

the apparently world-famous wall drug store. another thing the aaa lady told me i should check out. i had a buffalo chili dog here for lunch. it was pretty good, but ridiculously overpriced. oh, and if you couldn’t tell, it was swarming with bikers too.

the badlands. pretty sweet, huh? ironically, i happened to be driving through south dakota during the world-famous sturgis motorcycle rally, so this whole day i think i saw about 2 bikes for every other type of vehicle. and most of those others were trucks pulling trailers with more bikes.

day 3 - i swear i took a picture of my camp outside of sioux falls, but i guess it didn’t develop. anywho, this is the apparently world famous corn palace in mitchell, sd. the lady at aaa told me about it so i figured i’d stop and take a picture. i got here before it opened, although i wouldn’t have gone inside even if it were.

who would’ve thunk it - a waterfall in sioux falls, south dakota! i was planning on eating dinner at a brewpub just up the road from here, but it was closed for remodeling. :( fortunately, perkins saved the day and i had some uber pancakes instead.

the missouri river as seen from a city park in omaha. i wasn’t actually supposed to go to nebraska, but i was on i-26 for a good chunk of the afternoon, which is just a few miles east of the state, so i hopped into omaha for lunch on the river.
